Today, I contemplated about what my next blog article was going to be about. I decided that I needed to identify the signs of the last days. This will give many of you who have been reading my blog a basis for coming articles. There are many other signs associated with the last days that I have not listed below. Some are incorporated into other signs. The following is the list that I compiled through the study of the scriptures and other books.

So, without further ado here are the 79 Signs of The Last Days as referenced from the scriptures and Understanding the Signs of the Times by Donald W. Parry and Jay A. Parry, and in no particular order:

  1. A mighty prophet comes forth.
  2. The gospel is restored.
  3. The priesthood keys are restored.
  4. The Book of Mormon comes forth.
  5. Angelic visitations assist in the restoration.
  6. Spiritual gifts are restored.
  7. The latter-day kingdom is established.
  8. The Lord gathers Israel.
  9. The Lord restores the keys of the gathering.
  10. The gathering involves missionary work and conversion.
  11. Ephraim will be gathered first.
  12. A Voice of warning goes forth to all people; after the Lord’s warnings come his judgments.
  13. The Lamanites will blossom as a rose.
  14. The Lord calls 144,000 high priests to help in the gathering.
  15. The Saints are commanded to flee Babylon.
  16. The Saints gather at the temples.
  17. The Jews gather to the land of Palestine.
  18. The ten tribes are brought in from their long dispersion and are blessed to return to the lands of their inheritance.
  19. The Saints gather to Zion, where the New Jerusalem is built.
  20. A temple is built in Jerusalem.
  21. All nations visit the temple of Jerusalem.
  22. Water flows from the temple and heals the waters of the Dead Sea.
  23. Two prophets work miracles and prophesy in Jerusalem.
  24. The Messiah battles against the Jew’s enemies and stands on the Mount of Olives, and some ask Christ, “What are these wounds in thine hands?”
  25. Judah and Jerusalem are redeemed.
  26. The New Jerusalem is built in Independence, Missouri.
  27. Zion is redeemed after she fulfills certain conditions.
  28. Zion flourishes and blossoms like a beautiful flower before Christ’s coming.
  29. Zion is a place of safety for the Saints.
  30. Zion and her stakes serve as a refuge from the world’s wickedness and God’s judgments on sinners.
  31. God blesses Zion with great blessings; she shall never be destroyed.
  32. The Lord blesses Zion with his glory and light.
  33. Zion, or the New Jerusalem, prepares the Saints for Christ’s coming.
  34. A great temple is built in Independence, Missouri.
  35. The Lord appears in glory to Zion; the Lord loves Zion and its inhabitants: it is his city, and its inhabitants are his people.
  36. The last days are a time of apostasy.
  37. It is a time of false churches, false prophets, and false Christs.
  38. It is a time of the antichrist.
  39. Iniquity abounds.
  40. The love of many waxes cold.
  41. The Saints are persecuted.
  42. Secret combinations are built up.
  43. The United States Constitution hangs by a thread.
  44. Mens’ hearts fail them.
  45. Despite God’s judgments, men refuse to repent.
  46. Scoffers mock at the signs of the times.
  47. Eventually, the Lord’s Spirit ceases to strive with mankind.
  48. Wars and rumors of wars.
  49. War is poured out on all nations.
  50. Slaves rise up against their masters.
  51. The “remnants of the land” vex the Gentiles.
  52. A five-month war torments mankind.
  53. A war with two hundred million soldiers kills one-third of mankind (Armageddon?)
  54. All nations gather to battle against Israel in the valley of Armageddon.
  55. The Saints receive a degree of protection.
  56. All nations come to an end.
  57. Babylon, the mother of harlots, or the wicked world, gains great power on earth.
  58. The Saints must flee Babylon and go to Zion.
  59. Babylon falls by the power of God; the wicked world is destroyed.
  60. God send plagues and other judgments to the earth to encourage the wicked to repent.
  61. A scourge goes forth upon the earth to encourage the people to repent.
  62. God sends his first judgments to Zion’s hypocrites.
  63. As Zion’s inhabitants are faithful, they escape God’s judgments.
  64. The Lord’s servants “seal up the law” after they have warned the world.
  65. Those who escape God’s judgments are purified.
  66. The earth is harvested by angels.
  67. God shows great signs and wonders in the heavens.
  68. The sun is darkened and the moon becomes “as blood.”
  69. The absence of the rainbow is a sign that the end is near.
  70. The sign of the Son of Man appears in the sky shortly before Christ’s second coming.
  71. The great council at Adam-ondi-Ahman meets to prepare the Saints for Jesus’ coming.
  72. Jesus Christ comes “suddenly” to his temples and to the earth.
  73. The Second Coming is a time of darkness and trouble for sinners.
  74. Righteous people from all ages of the earth will accompany Jesus Christ at his coming.
  75. Sinners are burned with fire when Christ appears again.
  76. Jesus joins the righteous in a joyous reunion at his coming.
  77. Many unbelievers deny the signs of the times.
  78. Many cities are destroyed before Christ’s coming, similar to the manner in which Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed anciently.
  79. The waters shall turn to blood just as in Moses’ time.
